Full Moon in Chitra nakshatra

Full Moon in Chitra, in Libra

Saturday April 16th 21:00 CET

This Full Moon will be in a nakshatra called Chitra, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, in the sign of Libra. Chitra is symbolised by a shining jewel, representing the divine light within us. The planetary ruler is Mars, providing the strength and direction necessary to follow your inner light 🌟

Chitra is often referred to as ‘the star of opportunity’, which is also supported by its ruling deity; Tvashtar, the universal architect, who is said to grant prosperity and fortune in creative pursuits, showing that there is a divine plan operating behind the scenes. Chitra natives are often very detail oriented, and there is also a tendency toward perfectionism with this nakshatra.

Another symbol for this nakshatra is a pearl, a gem hidden inside a tough shell that has to be broken apart in order for the beautiful pearl inside to appear. This represents the crumbling of our outer, or material self, that has to occur in order for us to become aware of the inner truth of who we really are. Mars as the ruler gives us the drive and the courage to pursue this path of self discovery, which can be both painful and distressing at times.

Just before the Full Moon arrives, Jupiter, planet of faith and fortune, will have moved into expansive and watery Pisces, providing us with the opportunity to really get in touch with our inner knowing, our intuition. Jupiter is in strong position in Pisces, its own sign, and this is also a beneficial time for going deeper into our spiritual practice or spiritual studies. The Full Moon will also be closing in on the Rahu/Ketu axis in Aries/Libra, and aspected by Saturn, so there is a heavy energy to it as well. Perhaps you’ve been carrying a burden that it’s time to release?

With the Sun in Aries, looking for individual truths opposite the Moon in Libra, wanting to relate, there is a focus on the interplay between the self versus the many, on how to compromise for the sake of relationships while remaining true to individual beliefs. This is only added to by the fact that Rahu and Ketu are now operating on this axis as well, and where the eclipse on the following New Moon will bring this even more into focus.

Chitra qualities include both social skills and creativity, so this Full Moon is an auspicious time for artistic pursuits and social activities. If you are creatively bent, enjoy the added creative energy, but don’t get too caught up in details.

Some questions to reflect upon:

❧ Am I able to let go of the minor details in order to appreciate the bigger picture?
❧ Is there something I’ve been carrying that I need to let go of?
❧ Am I moving closer to becoming my true self?
❧ If not, how can I best support my inner process?

It’s not that the light holds more beauty than the shadow; it’s simply yet to be discovered 🪷

Happy Full Moon! 🌕

Food for thought…
